The Supreme Court Foundations

The Supreme Court can be considered one of the most important parts of the judicial body. It's considered one of the most important parts because the Supreme Court has the final say in all cases that involve the laws of Congress and the Constitution. However, the power of the Supreme Court is limited by the other two branches of government, the Executive branch and the Legislative branch. This limitation of power is also known as checks and balances. Another reason why the supreme court is so powerful is because it has the ability to check the actions of both the President and Congress. For example, if the Presidents actions conflict with the Constitution the Supreme Court can stop or override his or hers actions. Regarding the Congress, an example is when the Supreme Court vetos a law passed by Congress that interferes with the Constitution. Make a Robot Do It

Some say she's cheating. Others say she is brilliant. Chinese student sparked debate when her mother discovered that she trained a robot to imitate her handwriting in order to finish her homework. It has been reported in a Chinese newspaper that the young girl spent 800 renminbi, which would be 120 American dollars.  The young girls mother became suspicious that her daughter may be up to something when she finished an assignment that should have taken longer to do then two days. The mother discovered the robot and smashed it because she believed it was cheating. However, others believe that she is just utilizing tools to help her complete the assignment. One commenter stated "The difference between humans and other animals is that they know how to make and use tools. This young lady already knows how to do this." Those on the mothers side believe that the using of robots to complete homework is cheating. They believe that reading and writing repeatedly is a necess

El Chapo Found Guilty

Mexican crime lord, well known as El Chapo, was found guilty on all accounts at his drug-trafficking trial on the 12th of February.  El Chapo, who's real name is  Joaquín Guzmán, is responsible for the all-powerful Sinaloa drug cartel which is said to be the biggest supplier of drugs in the United States. Guzmán was arrested in January 2016 after escaping Mexican prison through a tunnel five months earlier.  The jury consisted of eight women and four men who deliberated for several days before convicting Guzmán for charges related to drug smuggling, murder, money laundering,  and weapon possession. The verdict took place in a Brooklyn, New York courtroom this past Tuesday. Guzmán now faces a mandatory sentence of life in prison without parole. However, Guzmán's lawyers do plan to appeal the verdict.  While leaving the courtroom Guzmán locked eyes with his wife Emma Coronel and appeared to be holding back his tears (as seen below). 

Teen Opts to get Vaccinated

Teen Opts to get Vaccinated  Ohio teen, Ethan Lindenberger, was never vaccinated as a child due too his parents belief that vaccines are a "government scheme".  Lindenberger never received vaccines for hepatitis, polio, measles,  mumps, rubella, or chickenpox. The Ohio teen decided when he turned 18 he would go and get all the shots recommended and that were still an option at his age. Lindenberger states on Good Morning America, "My parents think vaccines are some kind of government scheme... I never been vaccinated for anything,  God knows how I'm still alive,". Lindenberger expresses how he researched and explored different opinions, and came to the conclusion that vaccines are "good and beneficial".
